Antigua Guatemala

Antigua Guatemala, capital of the province of Sacatepéquez in Guatemala, is a beautiful colonial town that for many years was the religious, political, and economic heart of Central America. After being destroyed by a series of earthquakes, the city was abandoned in 1773. A new capital city was built only 45 kilometers to the east, which is still the capital city today: Guatemala City. Antigua has kept his charm and for decades now it has been one of Guatemala’s and even Central America’s top location for visitors, tourists and students to learn Spanish.
